First SURFICE’s publication

This year is particularly exciting for the SURFICE consortium. It started with the good news that the first peer-reviewed journal article in the frame of the project is out!

Published in the Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, the paper introduces freezing X-ray Computed Tomography (XCT) as a versatile tool to shed light on the hidden aspects of ice/surface interface at a microscale level. This study reveals potential applications of freezing_XCT in determining the impacts of wetting states and mechanical interlocking in ice/surface interactions. The research has been carried out in collaboration among the consortium network, the authors include David Seveno and Navid Mostofi Sarkari from KU Leuven, with colleagues from the XCT Core Facility, Carlo Antonini and Tanmoy Maitra from Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca and Tanmoy Maitra from FT Technologies Ltd respectively.
